Private Instruction sessions give beginning and emerging artists a chance to work 1-on-1 with Amy in her studio and get focused attention and support in specific areas of their encaustic painting practice. Private instruction is $300 for a 3 hour session. Once a session has been purchased, Amy will reach out to schedule your time in the studio together.

Areas of focus could include:

  • Critiquing a selection of your work

  • Studio equipment, set-up + safety

  • Painting and fusing smooth layers

  • Encaustic monoprints on paper

  • Oil pigment sticks and other surface treatments

  • Tricks + tips for transfers (photo/toner, line/graphite/charcoal/Saral paper)

  • Working safely + confidently with a butane torch
